Prom Organisers

The school prom is an American tradition that started life as a kind of formal event at wealthy colleges in the late 1800’s.  Over a hundred years later, proms are becoming more and more popular in the UK – for good reason; they’re lots of fun!  Whether the Prom is to celebrate the end of compulsory school at the end of year 11, or to celebrate the end of your school life at the end of year 13,  you can bet that it will be a night to remember. If you don’t plan to get involved with organising the school prom, you can skip straight to the Guest section of the site where you'll find, checklists and tonnes of advice to help make your prom night the best it can possibly be.

If you’re a committee member, or at least a hopeful, then read through the pages in this section of our site or you can also download a copy to read later.

All of the businesses advertised in this book are reliable and happy to provide quotes for their services, just tell them you
found them in The Prom Organiser.

Have a great time!

The Prom Organiser team.

In case you were wondering, ‘prom’ comes from ‘promenade’ which was the march around the room that couples made at the beginning of formal balls. It sounds a bit weird to us now, but it was important: everyone got to show off what they were wearing and who their partner was, and everyone else wanted to have a good look without appearing rude. Not that
different to nowadays really…
