The decision on how to get to the prom revolves around three questions:

Will I look good arriving this way?

Will I get there without ruining my outfit?

How much does it cost?

If the answer to the first two is yes, brilliant, but obviously your parents will have a lot to say about the third. Go to the personal prom fundraising section for advice on saving money for your prom to get round this problem.

Leaving the money to one side for now, there is only one rule when it comes to arriving at the prom: Do it with style. It doesn’t matter how, just as long as it makes you feel fabulous – because then you will look fabulous and there’s likely to be a lot of people watching everyone arrive. Parents, teachers and extended families often collect at the entrance to the school to watch the spectacle, so don’t let them down!

Cars

You can hire cars with drivers just to take you to the prom – just like brides and weddings. The most popular cars are the sport cars (Ferraris and Lamborghinis are often able to be hired out), vintage and classic cars and of course, the good old Limo. If you’re going to splash out on having a car, why not arrange for it to collect you early and take the scenic route to the prom. It’s not every day you get to ride in style.

Top prom car tips:

If you want a sports car, remember that most are only two seaters; not good for couples when you need a chauffeur! Also, the seats tend to be very low, so if you’re wearing a dress that’s long and straight, you will have to get out of the car carefully.

Classic and vintage cars are often open-top. If you’re worried about your hair, or the weather, you should ask the company whether there is a soft roof that can be put up. Hair will be fine if it’s only a short distance.

Limo’s can be very large – if there is a tight turning circle at your school, you may need to pull up further away. Stretch limos are great for small groups or two to three couples who want to arrive together. This shares the cost too.

Don’t forget to pause after you arrive and after you get out – there will be lots of photos so
